EXPERIENCES with Horses

At Sea Side Saddle, what sets us apart is our unique approach: our horses live in semi-liberty within a herd, reflecting their natural living conditions. Each horse in our diverse herd has its own distinct background and story.

Since our inception, Sea Side Saddle has served an educational purpose, showcasing how horses thrive when living in conditions that mimic their natural habitat.

Our experiences focus on understanding horses, particularly through our rehabilitation program. This program highlights the transformative journey of horses as they regain trust and confidence in themselves, their herd, and eventually, in humans.

Participants will enter the horses’ environment, gaining insights into equine behavior and dynamics within our specific herd. Each horse’s personality and role within the herd will be explored and understood.

Being among our herd has a calming effect on our guests, fostering a sense of presence and mindfulness. This serene environment provides the perfect setting for beginning your chosen experience with us.

Meet & Greet Experience (Minimum 2 Persons, Minimum Age 14)

Many of our horses, often deemed “useless” in the traditional riding world due to blindness, chronic illnesses, old age, or inability to be ridden, form a valuable part of our mindful, ride-free experience. Interacting with our rescue horses at ground level offers eye-opening and beautiful moments.

During this experience, you’ll meet our cherished herd in their natural environment. Each horse has a unique personality and story, allowing you to forge a connection based on mutual understanding and trust. While learning about horse and herd behavior, you’ll also gain insights into yourself.

This foundational experience not only deepens your appreciation and understanding of horses but also supports our mission to provide these animals with a second chance at life.

Half-Day Private Experience (Up to 3/4 Riders, Minimum Age 16, Maximum Weight 84 kg)

In this immersive experience, you’ll explore our herd’s natural environment while learning about horse behavior both generally and specifically within our herd. You’ll get to know each horse’s unique personality and role within the herd, and have opportunities to connect with your horse in their home environment.

After meeting your horse, you’ll take care of and prepare them for a ride. We will then embark on a horseback journey through the mountains of Estepona.

Due to the personalized nature of this experience, we can offer only a few slots per week, available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Our dogs and cats

Winston

Winston is a 12-year-old Jack Russell. He is very playful, always ready for his food, and always tries to steal treats. He’s very kind and loves to play with the other dogs. He’s the leader of them all and wakes everyone up in the morning to make sure he gets his food.

Spark

Spark is a 6-year-old cross Pointer Podenco. She is very playful, loves to go for long walks and swims, and will fetch anything you throw. She is a lovely dog to have and is very good to take anywhere. She’s very good on the leash, in restaurants, and in the car.

Buck

Buck is a 3-year-old Belgian Shepherd. He is a lovely dog, very clever, and always gives a paw for attention. He’s very good at learning and loves to do tricks. He teaches all the dogs very well and loves to play. He enjoys going on long walks.

Lizzy

Lizzy is a 2-year-old Mastin. She is a mom and a lovely dog to take anywhere. She is very good at home, keeps the house very safe, and is really good with other people.

Louis

Louis is a 2-year-old Mastin. He’s a dad, very kind, and a very loving dog. He keeps the house very safe, loves to go to the river, likes to come to our desk to ask for treats, and enjoys spending his day outside.

Woods

Woods is a 7-year-old cat and a mom. She spends the day with her son on the roof and is very nice and loving to the other animals.

Eradura

Eradura is a 5-year-old cat who spends the day with his mom. He is very nice and adventurous.

Lucy

Lucy is a 4-year-old cat. She is very loving, loves to sleep on our desk, and is very good with other animals.

Misifú

Misifú is a 3-year-old cat. She is very playful and the leader of them all. She spends all day in the house and by the pool, loves to go on adventures, and is a lovely cat to have.

Simba

Simba is a 1-year-old cat. He is very playful, plays all day with the dogs and other cats, is very adventurous, and loves attention and play.
